  • Difference Connecting.

As a designer, thinker, speculator, creative consultant, and academic advisor, I have had some 25 years experience working in and around the edges of fashion practice and education.

A graduate from St. Martin’s School of Art in the mid-1990’s, I have since operated in a range of design disciplines including, fashion, theatre, music, architecture, and interactive digital media. I was one of the first ever fashion designers to develop digitally interactive installations as a means to enhance and extend a design story. Many of my projects, in collaboration and association with a wonderful array of unique and talented practitioners, have been exhibited extensively in museums, galleries and institutions internationally, and my garments are housed in some of the most renowned museum archives in the world.

My involvement in academia has included central roles within innovative research studios, the conception of original R&I initiatives, and the authoring of forward-looking ‘thinking’ courses, all underscored by intent to radically inspire and challenge new generations of designer/thinkers.

  • Blog.

The blog functions as a platform for formative and unresolved ideas that convene around an engagement with abstracted fashion and design thinking.

The commentary may echo or stretch approaches and opinion expressed in other realms of the arts, humanities or sciences, through current news items, books read, or concepts gleaned elsewhere, as well as drawing upon personal ideas and writing.

Whether short excerpts or more developed passages; older deliberations or recent musings; potentially provocative or hopelessly naïve; these speculations may nonetheless help nourish novel forms of contact with fashion and creativity.

I hope that you enjoy these meditations and I hope that you may feel motivated to respond to, extend, or challenge any proposed ideas.
